The SOCSKSARGEN Federation of Fishing and Allied Industries, Inc. (SFFAII), led by SFFAII President Joaquin T. Lu, attended the Seafood and Fisheries Emerging Technologies (SAFET) Conference on February 13-16, 2019, at Bangkok, Thailand.
The four-day event aims to improve and clarify the understanding of the existing Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) and supply chain traceability environment; objectively review emerging and advancing technologies that might contribute to less expensive and more efficient MCS and supply chain traceability; and advance future implementation of innovative emerging technologies in MCS and supply chain traceability applications where appropriate. The conference was organized by World Wildlife Fund (WWF). It showcased new technologies that could revolutionize the fishing industry.
SAFET Conference was convened back-to-back with the Global Fisheries Enforcement Training Workshop (GFETW), organized by the International Monitoring, Control, and Surveillance Network (IMCS Network), from February 18-22, 2019, in the same venue as the SAFET.
The conference attracted over 200 seafood and technology professionals, as well as government and non-government groups from around the world.
