After
holding a series of consultation and planning meetings, and months of
development, BFAR – Fisheries Information Management Center (FIMC), led by Mr.
Zaldy Perez, presented the recent version of e-CDTS held, November 7, 2017 at
the East Asia Royale Hotel, during the System Development Workshop to ratify
the data and consult the stakeholders in the finalization of the development of
design and functionalities of Electronic Catch Documentation and Traceability
System.
System Development Workshop
The
System Development Workshop was divided into two sessions: One for the Purse
Seine and Canneries Supply Chain (morning), and another for the Handline and
Fresh Frozen Processors Supply Chain (afternoon).
The participants that attended during the morning session of
System Development Worskhop were:
Purse Seine - St. Nino Aqua
Fishing Ventures, Roel Fishing, Marchael Sea Ventures, Dex Sea Trading, Rell
and Renn Fishing Corp, CHL Fishing, and RD Fishing;
Canneries - Celebes Canning
Corp, Oceans Canning Corp, Seatrade Canning Corp, Alliance Food Select
International Inc., General Tuna Canning Corp, Philbest Canning Corp, and
Citramina Canning Corp.
While the participants from the afternoon session were:
Handline – Raul Gonzales, Ronnie Delos Santos,
Jebo Fishing, and Tuna Explorer’s Inc.;
Fresh Frozen - Mommy Gina Tuna
Resources, Sta. Cruz Seafoods, PhilCinMic Industrial Corp., Rell and Renn
Seafood Sphere Inc., GS Pescador, Pescarich, and Ten Point Manufacturing.
Mr.
K-Marx Macalalag, head of the development team, performed a hands on
demonstration on how the system works – by which, has been immediately
subjected to scrutiny by the intended users of the system. Developers from the
development team of BFAR-FIMC assisted the participants in filling up and going
thru the live simulation activity/dry run. Questions, problems, issues, and
suggestions from the participants were raised to the developers, which will
then be collated for further development of the system.
